Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Serious Poster collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. It covers the website, the dashboard and the browser extension.

Updated 29 August 2026

Effective 29 August 2026 · Version 1.0

1. Who we are

Serious Poster is operated by Brandon Gamez, doing business as Serious Poster, a brand of Gavelbase (“we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal information described here. You can reach us any time at support@seriousposter.com.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the Service.

3. What we do not collect

We also do not store your full payment-card number. Card details are entered directly with our payment processor, Stripe, and we receive only the limited billing information needed to manage your subscription.

4. What the extension accesses

The extension runs in your browser and, while it is operating, acts within your logged-in Facebook session to do two things: publish your posts and first comments, and perform the community-interaction tasks described in our Terms (section 4) — actions such as liking, following, joining or commenting on groups, pages and posts that we select. It requests only the browser permissions it needs for this:

  • Access to facebook.com — to open group pages and operate the composer;
  • Tabs and scripting — to run the posting logic in a tab it controls;
  • Storage — to hold the state of a run locally so it survives the browser closing the worker;
  • Alarms — to wake up when the next step is due;
  • Notifications — to tell you when a run finishes or is stopped.

The extension does not read your Facebook messages, your friends list, or content unrelated to running your campaigns and the tasks above.

5. How we use information

  • To provide, operate, maintain and secure the Service;
  • To run your campaigns and to run the community-interaction program;
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions;
  • To respond to support requests and send service-related messages such as verification and password-reset emails;
  • To detect, prevent and address abuse, fraud and security issues;
  • To understand and improve the Service;
  • To comply with law and enforce our Terms.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

6. Our legal bases (GDPR)

If you are in the UK or EEA, we rely on these legal bases:

  • Contract — to provide the Service you signed up for;
  • Legitimate interests — to secure the Service, prevent abuse, and improve what we offer, balanced against your rights;
  • Consent — where we ask for it, which you can withdraw at any time;
  • Legal obligation — where we must process information to comply with the law.

7. Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that help us run Serious Poster, and only as needed:

ProviderPurpose
Cloud hostingRuns our servers and database
Amazon Web Services (S3)Stores the media you upload
StripeProcesses payments and subscriptions
SendGridSends transactional email (verification, password reset)
GoogleProvides sign-in, if you choose it
OpenRouterPowers optional AI post drafting, when you use it

These providers process information on our behalf under their own terms. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, and we may transfer information as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will let you know. We do not sell your personal information.

8. How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must keep some of it to comply with law, resolve disputes or enforce our agreements (for example, billing records).

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including hashing passwords, encrypting data in transit, and limiting who can access it. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, and you are responsible for keeping your own credentials safe.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;
  • Correct information that is inaccurate;
  • Delete your information;
  • Export a copy of your information;
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where we rely on it.

To exercise any of these, email support@seriousposter.com. We will respond as the law requires and will not discriminate against you for exercising a right. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. If you are a California resident: we do not sell or “share” your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and you may exercise your rights using the same contact address.

11. Cookies and local storage

We keep the amount of tracking to a minimum. We use browser storage to keep you signed in (a session token) and to remember basic preferences, and our servers keep standard logs. We use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand how the site is used. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

12. International transfers

We and our providers may process your information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where we transfer information out of the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

13. Children

The Service is for adults. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the effective date and version above, and for material changes we will take reasonable steps to let you know. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
